Is a metal roof hot?
Metal is known for minimizing heat retention as it reflects 70% of the sun’s energy. Because of this, less heat is absorbed by the building structure. Research conducted by the Florida Solar Energy Center showed that metal has significantly less heat gain compared to asphalt shingles. Studies show that metal roofing has an identical effect to R-11 rooftop insulation during sunny day conditions.
Won’t metal rust or its paint finish fade?

Can a metal roof be damaged by hail?
